Thomas Michael "Tim" Scanlon (/ˈskænlən/; born 1940) is an American philosopher. He is the Alford Professor of Natural Religion, Moral Philosophy, and Civil Polity in Harvard University's Department of Philosophy. He grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana; obtained his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1962; earned his Ph.D.
