Taichung County (Chinese: 臺中縣 or 台中縣; pinyin: Táizhōng Xiàn; Wade–Giles: T'ai-chung Hsien; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-tiong-kōan) was a county in central Taiwan, the Republic of China, that surrounded but did not include Taichung City. The county capital was Fengyuan City. The name Taichung means "central Taiwan".
