The Taimuri are a sub-tribe of the Chahar Aimaq ethnic group in Afghanistan, one of the four major Aimaq tribes which also include the Firozkohi, Taimani, and Jamshidi.The Timuri or Teimuri were once the largest and most powerful of Aimaqs. Today they are found in Iran, both in Khorasan (25,000) and around Meshed (1,500).
