Taivalkoski is a municipality of Finland, it is located in the Province of Oulu and is part of the Northern Ostrobothnia region.The municipality has a population of 4,217(30 June 2015) and covers an area of 2,650.63 square kilometres (1,023.41 sq mi) ofwhich 212.59 km2 (82.08 sq mi)is water. The population density is1.73 inhabitants per square kilometre (4.5/sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.Taivalkoski was the home of famous writer Kalle Päätalo and TV-comedian Pekka Jalava.
