Taraori or Tarori or Tarawari, as it is sometimes called in the local dialect, is a city (Municipal committee) and a Tehsil Nilokheri, 16 km north of Karnal in Karnal district in the Indian state of Haryana.It was here that in 1191 CE that the Hindu army under Prithviraj Chauhan had defeated the invading army of Muhammad of Ghaur.
