The Festivus is a publication about malacology and conchology published by the San Diego Shell Club in San Diego, California. Originating in 1970, the publication gradually became a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The Festivus remained as a peer-reviewed journal for many years during the time when the editor-in-chief was Carole Hertz (1970-2014). In 2014 Hertz was succeeded by David P. Berschauer and the journal expanded its physical format and started including popular articles.
