The University of Cologne (German: Universität zu Köln) is the sixth oldest university in Central Europe and, with more than 48,000 students, one of the largest universities in Germany. It is furthermore the German founding member of the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS). Since 2012 the university was awarded in the German Universities Excellence Initiative for its overall concept.
