W. Kent Fuchs (/w. kɵnt fɑːks/; born 1954) is an American university professor and academic administrator. He is the current president of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Upon taking office on January 1, 2015, he became the university's twelfth president. He previously served as the provost of Cornell University from 2009 through 2014.Fuchs was the Joseph Silbert Dean of the Cornell University College of Engineering from 2002 to 2008.
