It is in the suborder "Plagiaulacida", family Albionbaataridae. The genus Albionbaatar was named by Kielan-Jaworowska Z. and Ensom P.C. in 1994 based on a single species."Albion" refers to England, while, "baatar" is Mongolian, meaning "hero".
