Ampang Jaya, more commonly known as just ampang, is a township (Majlis Perbandaran) and suburb of Kuala Lumpur located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It borders a district within Kuala Lumpur also known as Ampang. It covers the Selangor districts of Gombak and Hulu Langat. Ampang is often confused with Jalan Ampang, a street in Kuala Lumpur which connects Ampang town to downtown Kuala Lumpur and is home to many foreign diplomatic missions.
