The Ara Canal or "Ara Waterway" is an 18-kilometer waterway that connects the Han River in Gimpo to the Yellow Sea at Incheon, South Korea.Completed in 2011, the canal was built in order to bypass the mouth of the Han River, which is located on the heavily militarized border with North Korea. The waterway now provides safe and direct access to the sea for tourist boats as well as commercial boats coming to and from Seoul.Along the canal are the Eight Scenic Views of Suhyang.
