Benjamin Dann Walsh (September 21, 1808 – November 18, 1869) was an English-born American entomologist, serving as the first official state entomologist in Illinois from 1867 to 1869.He was born in London, England, the son of Benjamin Walsh MP. He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1837 he published the first volume of The Comedies of Aristophanes, a translation in English metre. In the preface he compared American Slavery in the South with that in ancient Athens.
