Bruce Lowell Braley (born October 30, 1957) is an American politician and attorney who served as the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 1st congressional district from 2007 to 2015. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district lies in northeastern Iowa and includes Davenport, Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Marshalltown, and Dubuque. Braley was defeated in his attempt to win Tom Harkin's open seat in the 2014 United States Senate election in Iowa.
