Carl Joseph Robie, III (May 12, 1945 – November 30, 2011) was an American swimmer, Olympic champion, and former world record-holder.At the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, Robie received a silver medal for his second-place finish in the men's 200-meter butterfly. Four years later at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City, he won a gold medal for winning the men's 200-meter butterfly.
