Professor Dr. Christian Schwarz-Schilling (born November 19, 1930, in Innsbruck, Austria), is a German politician, entrepreneur, philanthropist and media and telecommunications innovator. He is the son of the composer Reinhard Schwarz-Schilling and is married to the author Marie-Luise Schwarz-Schilling with whom he has two children. He is a Catholic. During a trip to Poland in 2003, Schwarz-Schilling discovered that his mother, Polish pianist Dusza von Hakrid was in fact Jewish.
