Lamarse Howard "Cotton" Ivy, is a humorist, comedian and entertainer born in Decatur County, Tennessee on May 15, 1930. Ivy served as a Democrat on the Tennessee House of Representatives in Decaturville, Tennessee from 1985 to 1989. From 1989 to 1995, he served as Tennessee's Commissioner of Agriculture. The Department of Agriculture's L.H. "Cotton" Ivy Laboratory is named after him.
