Cylon is a fictional artificially-intelligent 'collective' of robotic beings. Because of a special set of programs Zoe Graystone wrote, creating a digital image of her very existence, the Cylon's as individuals achieve 'cognizance' – i.e. are able to ask who and what they are – why they exist, and based on that programming, they start out life each believing in a god – the same God Zoe worshiped.
