Daniel E. Reichart is an American astronomer. He is best known for his ground breaking contributions to the field of gamma-ray bursts, most notably his discovery in 1999 of a signature similar to supernovae in the late-time afterglow of GRB 970228, the first burst for which an afterglow was observed.
