Eva Le Gallienne (January 11, 1899 – June 3, 1991) was an English-born American stage actress, producer and director. She founded the Civic Repertory Theatre in Manhattan in the 1920’s, where she appeared to great acclaim as Peter Pan and Hedda Gabler.Le Gallienne conducted open relationships with high-profile lesbians such as Tallulah Bankhead, Alla Nazimova and Mercedes de Acosta, though she regarded the latter’s candid memoirs as a betrayal.
