Henning Fritz (born September 21, 1974 in Magdeburg, Germany) is a retired German Handball goalkeeper, and the first goalkeeper to be named World Player of the Year, in 2004.Fritz is a relatively short goalkeeper (only 1.88 m) who began playing major-league handball with SC Magdeburg.
