John J. Pruis (born December 13, 1923) is best known as being a president of Ball State University as well as having a building dedicated in his name on the campus. He went to Western Michigan University for his education and later for a career. Pruis, originally from Holland, Michigan came to Ball State on July 1, 1968, and retiring in 1978.
