Krolevets (Ukrainian: Krolevets) is a city in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine. Population is 25,183 (2001).Named in honor of the Polish King Sigismund III, Krolevets was founded in 1601. The original name was written as Krolewac (Krulevats).Krolevets was annexed by the Tsardom of Muscovy in 1654. In 1897 it was incorporated into the Chernihiv province.
