Melicope adscendens is a rare species of flowering plant in the citrus family known by the common name auwahi melicope. It is endemic to Hawaii, where it is known only from the island of Maui. It is a federally listed endangered species of the United States. Like other Hawaiian Melicope, this species is known as alani.This is a shrub with long, slender branching stems and inflorescences of 1 to 3 flowers. It grows in degraded forest habitat on the slopes of the volcano Haleakalā.
