Milka Planinc (pronounced [mîːlka plǎnint͡s]; 21 November 1924 – 7 October 2010) was a Yugoslav politician from Croatia. She served as a Prime Minister of Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1982 to 1986. She was the first female head of government in a widely recognisedcommunist country, with the first in a partially recognized communist country being Khertek Anchimaa-Toka, also the first female non hereditary head of state.
