Monte Burney is an ice-capped stratovolcano located 200 km northwest of the city of Punta Arenas and south of the Cordillera Sarmiento, on the Peninsula Muñoz Gamero, in the Chilean Patagonia. It is composed from andesite with pumice around its foot, including some dacites with the overall SiO2 ranging 59-66%. The volcano has a small summit crater and a steep northern wall.
