Nileshwaram or Nileshwar (Malayalam: നീലേശ്വരം) is a municipality and a major town in Kasaragod District, state of Kerala, India. Also spelled as Nileswaram, Nileshwar is the third largest town in the Kasargod district, and is also referred to as the cultural capital of North Malabar. It is one of the three municipalities of Kasaragod district; the others are Kasaragod and Kanhangad. Kerala's first Chief Minister E. M. S. Namboodiripad was elected from Nileshwaram.
