Paraguayan Spanish (Spanish: espaƱol paraguayo) is a version of the Spanish language spoken in Paraguay, and influencing the speech of the Argentine provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, Formosa, and, to a lesser extent, Chaco. The Guarani language is co-official with Spanish in Paraguay, and the country's unique history has caused Guarani to have a major influence on pronunciation, tone, and other characteristics of Spanish.
