Riffa (in Arabic: الرفاع‎, transliteration: Ar-Rifāʿ) is the second largest city in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Riffa is divided into two parts; East Riffa and West Riffa. The city is mainly located in the Central Governorate, while smaller parts are in the Southern Governorate. Most of the city's inhabitants are Sunni Muslims.The city is growing fast: at the 2001 census it had a population of 79,550 and in 2008 it had an estimated population of 111,000.
