The San Jose brush rabbit (Sylvilagus mansuetus) is a species of mammal in the family Leporidae. It is endemic to the 170 km2 desert San Jose Island in the Gulf of California, part of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The species is closely related to S. bachmani, which is found on mainland Baja California, and is considered a subspecies of the latter by some authorities. The species has been recently uplisted to critically endangered by the IUCN.
