As a junior, Lipsky was ranked No. 1 in the U.S. in singles in 1995, and No. 1 in doubles for three straight years, in 1995–97. He won USTA national singles championships at both the 1995 Boys' 14s Clay Court Championships and the 1997 Boys' 16s Clay Court Championships.
