Sud-Comoé is one of the 31 regions of Ivory Coast, administratively part of Comoé District. The region's capital is Aboisso. The region's area is 6,250 km², and its population (2014 est.) is 642,620.The region is virtually the same as the territory of the pre-colonial kingdom of Sanwi which as late as 1969 attempted to break away from Ivory Coast and form an independent state. The current King of Sanwi is Nana Amon Ndoufou V (since 2002).
