Timmy McCarthy (born 7 September 1977) is an Irish hurler who played as a left wing-forward for the Cork senior team.Born in Castlelyons, County Cork, McCarthy first excelled at hurling whilst at school at St. Colman's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Cork minor teams as a dual player, before later joining the under-21 and intermediate hurling sides. He made his senior debut during the 1998 National Hurling League.
