The village of \u00C5sskard is located at the innermost part of the \u00C5sskardfjorden in the western part of Surnadal Municipality, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) northwest of the village of Sylte. The village is the site of \u00C5sskard Church.The former municipality of \u00C5sskard (historically spelled Aasgaard) included the area around the \u00C5sskardfjorden, north of the Hamnesfjorden, and east of the Trongfjorden."@en .
