"Ashapoorna Devi (Bengali: \u0986\u09B6\u09BE\u09AA\u09C2\u09B0\u09CD\u09A3\u09BE \u09A6\u09C7\u09AC\u09C0), also Ashapurna Debi or Asha Purna Devi, was a prominent Bengali novelist and poet. She was born in 8 January 1909. She has been widely honoured with a number of prizes and awards. She was awarded 1976 Jnanpith Award and the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1976; D.Litt by the Universities of Jabalpur, Rabindra Bharati, Burdwan and Jadavpur.
