"Claude Mo\u00EBt (1683\u20131760) was a French vintner and wine merchant who founded the Champagne house that later became Mo\u00EBt et Chandon. Mo\u00EBt was the first winemaker in Champagne to exclusively produce sparkling wine. An expert salesman, Mo\u00EBt advocated the importance of personal contact with customers.
