It is located in the village of Elvenes, about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) east of the village of Sj\u00F8vegan. The church is part of the Salangen parish in the Indre Troms deanery in the Diocese of Nord-H\u00E5logaland. The wooden chapel was built in 1959.
