It is located in the village of Fj\u00E6rland, near the northern end of the Fj\u00E6rlandsfjorden. The church is part of the Fj\u00E6rland parish in the Indre Sogn deanery in the Diocese of Bj\u00F8rgvin. The church was built in 1861 and it was designed by the architect Christian Henrik Grosch. The architect Johan Lindstrom was responsible for the major expansion of the church in 1931."@en .
