It is mostly spoken in Gascony and B\u00E9arn in southwestern France (in parts of the following French d\u00E9partements: Pyr\u00E9n\u00E9es-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyr\u00E9n\u00E9es, Landes, Gers, Gironde, Lot-et-Garonne, Haute-Garonne, and Ari\u00E8ge) and in the Aran Valley of Catalonia. It has about 250,000 speakers worldwide.Only Aranese, a southern Gascon variety, is spoken in Catalonia. Aranese has been greatly influenced recently by Catalan and Spanish."@en . .
