It is located in the now-abandoned (uninhabited) village of Hamningberg.  The chapel is part of the B\u00E5tsfjord parish in the Varanger deanery in the Diocese of Nord-H\u00E5logaland. The small wooden chapel was built in 1949 and it seats about 140 people.  It is no longer regularly used, since the village is no longer inhabited."@en .
