It is located at around 66\u00B046\u203258\u2033N 32\u00B000\u203200\u2033E. There are many islands in the lake. The hydroelectric power plant was built in 1955, thus transforming the lake to the dam. The surface area of Kovdozero has risen from 224\u2013294 km\u00B2 to 608 km\u00B2. Many rivers empty into Kovdozero and it flows to the White Sea through the Kovda River."@en . . . .
