It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Pszczew. It lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) east of Mi\u0119dzyrzecz, 46 km (29 mi) south-east of Gorz\u00F3w Wielkopolski, and 62 km (39 mi) north of Zielona G\u00F3ra.The village has a population of 1,826.
